Banco General s.a.

from June 2018 to june 2020.

This is the number one bank in Panama, it is the largest and one of the oldest in the country, I started working in the technology department as a UX/UI designer to bring the old software to the new era, in more technical words from the Core software (Cobis – from CobisCorp) to a Web environment. My users were bank workers, tellers, operations executives, managers and analysts who needed to have customer information available in seconds from the core center.

I had to draw rapid prototypes while interviewing the users to have a clear and common understanding of the problem and a rapid expectation of the  solutions to help me validate or invalidate ideas in the spot.

After 6 months I moved on to a different and interesting project, a frameless solution to connect the ERP system the clients with the bank’s core system, the goal was to build a digital bridge between the two systems so those large complex accounting transaction can happen securely and instantly without the friction of an interface with logins, different users, different permissions, etc.

For this interesting task I had to interview bank stakeholders, meet with SMS, network with client CFO’s, accounting departments and create different protopersonas (Protocompanies), create empathy maps, build user journeys, draw storyboards and debrief everything back to the stakeholder to land the  project.

I participated in 3 more teams within the Innovation department (BGx) creating personas, running workshops, creating user guides, user flows, improving the user interface design for the web experience of the Personal Banking web application, the Corporate Banking web application and the Commercial Payments System (P2C) web application using Figma at full capacity.
